16 y/o Targeted For West Ham Transfer

Insider ExWHUEmployee has revealed that West Ham United are keen on signing 16-year-old youngster Makise Evans in the summer.

What's the latest West Ham transfer news?

It seems as though the Premier League club could be looking to bolster their squad for the long-term with their scouts keeping an eye on England's lower divisions hoping to seek out top talents.

And in Evans, the Hammers may have found a pretty exciting teenager. Indeed, the Stevenage youngster has been dubbed a "wonderkid" by journalist Neil Metcalfe in a recent article for The Comet.

In that same piece, manager Steve Evans spoke about how the youngster was already ready to make an impact at senior level in League Two prior to the Boro's weekend clash against Mansfield Town.

He said: "It is important to see who is improving and progressing and Makise is one of those who has been jumping up and down with his performances and attitude.

"He goes on merit and may start. If he doesn’t, he’ll be on the bench, and he is taking the place of a senior player so I am not doing this lightly.

"I am doing it as he has a very bright future and he may even have a very bright present."

The boss was true to his word, with 16-year-old Evans making his debut off the bench last weekend. And despite only being at the very start of his career, West Ham already seem to be keen on signing the young talent.

Indeed, when talking on the latest episode of The West Ham Way, Ex revealed: "Another youngster that we've been looking at as well, plays for Stevenage, and he's called Makise Evans. He's a 16-year-old and he's meant to have done really well this season.

"But he's definitely someone that we've apparently had a look at and is someone that we are considering signing now."

Will Makise Evans join West Ham?

It's too early to say yet if he will definitely arrive, but Evans is clearly on the club's radar and it seems as though he isn't the only youngster West Ham are keeping tabs on ahead of this summer.

Indeed, Ex also recently revealed that 17-year-old Cliftonville winger Sean Moore is close to arriving. He said: "The deal is reported to be an initial down payment of £170k which could raise to £500k depending on appearances and milestones being met, as well as a profitable sell-on clause for the Northern Irish club included.

"West Ham are said to have beaten a number of clubs to his signature. "

It will certainly be interesting to keep an eye on these two youngsters as they develop over the next few years. Who knows, maybe they'll both take to the pitch together in West Ham colours somewhere down the line.

Manchester United Bid Incoming For £40m Centre Back

Manchester United are one of several teams expected to bid "at any moment" for Sporting CP defender Goncalo Inacio, according to reports in Portugal.

Who are Manchester United linked with?

The Red Devils will be hard at work this summer as they look to close the gap on Manchester City and Arsenal. Erik ten Hag's first season in charge will surely be seen as a success if they can wrap up top four along with a domestic cup – or potentially two – but the next task is to kick on and mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title.

Jude Bellingham is reportedly a target of potential new owner Sheikh Jassim, while a striker is surely top of the priority list, with links popping up to the likes of Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Tottenham's Harry Kane.

harry-kane-tottenham-manchester-united

The manager is clearly keen to bolster the spine of his team, as reports in Portugal now suggest he is also chasing a central defender. According to Record, via Sport Witness, Ten Hag "intends to sign" one new centre-back this year and Sporting's Inacio is "on the list".

The 21 year-old, who currently has a release clause of €45m (£40m), is "one of the most wanted defenders in Europe" due to his ability to play on either side despite being left-footed. Sporting are currently trying to increase his release clause in a new contract, as they fear "a proposal may arrive at any moment" from the Red Devils or another suitor.

Should Man United sign Inacio?

In Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane – despite both currently being out injured – Ten Hag has his first-choice pairing for the forseeable future. However, Varane is now in his thirties and the fact both players are struggling with fitness is a clear indicator of the need for improved squad depth when playing in four competitions.

Inacio, 21, could be the perfect candidate to come in as a back-up option at first, slowly maturing into Varane's replacement. Perhaps what stands out most about the youngster is his elite mentality, which was praised by his former coach Jose Lima:

"The psychological aspect is one of his great strengths, as he shows a lot of calm in any situation, in addition to his technical skills. He manages to show that he is completely calm playing and that is a great asset for him and for the team."

Ranking strongly in all of FBRef's ball-playing metrics for centre-backs, the Portugul international clearly has the coolness to keep a calm head under the bright lights of one of the biggest clubs in world football, and we think he would be an excellent signing for Ten Hag this summer.

Brothers Union beat KKC by nine runs after dramatic comeback

Brothers Union beat Kalabagan Krira Chakra by nine runs after a dramatic heist in which they took the last seven Kalabagan wickets for 15 runs at the BKSP-3 ground

Mohammad Isam18-May-2016Brothers Union pulled off a nine-run win over Kalabagan Krira Chakra, after a dramatic heist in which they took the last seven Kalabagan wickets for 15 runs at the BKSP-3 ground.Forty-five overs into their chase of 263, Kalabagan were going along swimmingly. With five overs to go, and Hamilton Masakadza batting on 109, Kalabagan required just 25 runs to win with seven wickets in hand. But when left-arm spinner Nabil Samad removed Mehrab Hossain jnr at the start of the 46th over, a crushing collapse ensued. In the next over, Mashrafe Mortaza, fresh from his 50-ball century in the last game, was caught and bowled by left-arm spinner Asif Hasan and, three balls later, Masakadza was run out by Imrul Kayes, ending his scintillating knock of 111 off 105 that had featured nine fours and a six.The wobble was well and truly on and the wickets of Tanveer Haider and Sharifullah over the next two overs left Kalabagan requiring 10 runs off the last over with two wickets in hand. Offspinner Ahmed Sadequr wrapped up proceedings with consecutive wickets off the first two balls of that over to seal a remarkable come-from-behind victory.Having been asked to bat first, Brothers had moved to 162 for 1 in the 32nd over, courtesy a 126-run second-wicket stand between Imrul Kayes (67) and captain Tushar Imran (77). They then lost 5 for 42 over the next 11.5 overs, before Nur Alam’s 13-ball 23 helped them to their final score of 262 all out.In reply, Kalabagan’s openers, Shadman Islam and Jashimuddin scored 30 runs apiece, before a 122-run third-wicket stand between Masakadza and Tasamul Haque took the side to a commanding position. Tasamul’s dismissal made it 210 for 3 in 41.4 overs, but Kalabagan’s meltdown in the last five handed Brothers a nine-run win.Masakadza, meanwhile, signed off from the Dhaka Premier League with a second century and a Player-of-the-Match award. He returns to Harare to prepare for the first ODI series under his captaincy, against India next month. He will leave as the highest scorer of the competition.Cricket Coaching School(CCS) registered their first win in the Dhaka Premier League after they beat Victoria Sporting Club by 53 runs through the D/L method at the Fatullah Cricket Stadium. The loss prevented Victoria from taking the lead in the points table after seven rounds of matches.Chasing 260, Victoria’s openers got off to a brisk start, but both fell within the first seven overs. Victoria were 72 for 2 off 10 overs when rain interrupted play for the first time. However, the passage of play between the first and second rain interruptions totally derailed the chase, as four wickets fell for 24 runs in the space of 7.4 overs. When play resumed, the target was revised to 253 in 35 overs as per the D/L method, which left Victoria with another 157 to get in 17.2 overs. Captain Nadif Chowdhury scored a 44-ball 50 and Dolar Mahmud chipped in with a 17-ball 29 at No. 10, but it was all in a losing cause as Victoria was bowled out for 199 in the 32nd over. Left-arm spinner Saleh Ahmed Shawon was the destroyer-in-chief, finishing with figures of 4 for 15 off seven overs, which earned him the Player-of-the-Match award.Batting first, CCS had marched to 200 for 2 in the 41st over after Saif Hassan scored 78 off 79 and the other three top-four batsmen scored 40-odd each. That was followed by a collapse in the last ten overs as Kamrul Islam Rabbi and Sri Lankan left-arm spinner Chaturanga de Silva ripped through the middle and lower orders to finish with four wickets apiece. De Silva’s four took his wicket tally for the tournament to 19. CCS slumped to 259 all out, but that proved to be more than enough as Victoria got nowhere near. The match between Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Gazi Group Cricketers at the Shere Bangla National Stadium was interrupted by rain and will continue on the reserve day, on May 19. When play was called off for the day, Gazi Group Cricketers were 83 for 3 in 16.1 overs, chasing a D/L-adjusted target of 196 in 38 overs. The highlight of the day was Mohammad Sharif’s hat-trick, which helped restrict Sheikh Jamal to 168 for 9 in their 38 overs.

Sky Sports Reporter Drops Exciting Messi To Barcelona Claim

Barcelona may have the upper hand in the hunt for Lionel Messi as the forward prefers to continue playing at a high level in Europe, according to Kaveh Solhekol.

What's going on with Lionel Messi?

The Argentina superstar has been suspended by Paris Saint-Germain after flying to Saudi Arabia without permission, and is set to depart the club when his contract expires this summer.

It seems that the 35-year-old has three options: a move to Saudi Arabia, a move to MLS, or a return to Barcelona.

Given that Barcelona are still suffering financial problems, they would have to work hard to manouvre their wage bill in order to make space for Messi, but given that his ideal move seems to be a return to the Nou Camp, they may consider themselves in the driving seat.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Solhekol claimed that Messi still sees himself as able to compete in the Champions League, and an emotional return to Barcelona could be on the cards.

"Everything we're hearing is that he still feels that he can carry on playing at the very, very top level," he stated.

"He wants to carry on playing in Europe. Ideally he wants to carry on playing in the Champions League, so I've just got a funny feeling that if something can be sorted out with Barcelona, we would have this fairytale return of him going back to the club where his heart is."

Lionel Messi in action at PSG.

Should Barcelona sign Messi?

Despite the hatred he is currently receiving from PSG fans, Messi has contributed 39 goals and assists in 37 games for the Parisians this season, and his performances at the World Cup showed that he can still deliver extraordinary moments at the top level.

Barcelona could have a clearout this summer, and wide players Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati and Raphinha have all been linked with moves away.

If they are able to generate funds from these attackers, they will have space for Messi to rejoin. The main question is, whether it would be worth selling three younger players for a 35-year-old.

All three players have garnered criticism at times this season, and depending on the level of bids received for them, they could all be smart sales if Messi can continue his high level of output in the short term.

If Barcelona are confident that they will not regret any of these sales, Fati in particular, given that he is a La Masia product who was handed Messi's number 10 shirt, then re-signing their greatest ever player to boost their Champions League hopes next season may be a gamble worth taking.

David Sullivan Unhappy With West Ham Transfers

Insider ExWHUEmployee has revealed that West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan is so unhappy with the club's recent transfer he may take responsibility away from David Moyes.

What's the latest on West Ham's transfer plans?

Despite spending a lot of money in the summer – well over £150m – it's not as though the Irons have been better this season.

After all, last term they made the Europa League semi-final and finished seventh, while now they are still in the Europa Conference League (one tier below) and currently sit 15th in the Premier League.

With that being the case, the club will have to carefully consider their transfer strategy and it sounds as though power will be taken away from manager Moyes if he remains in East London.

Indeed, in an update shared on The West Ham Way Podcast, Ex outlined his understanding of the situation.

He said (09:59): “What I have heard as well is that David Sullivan is so unhappy with the amount of money – the amount of his money essentially – has been wasted on transfers, that he's going to take more of a role back in transfers and appoint another sort of football director to come in and oversee it.

"If this is the case and David Moyes stays on as manager, which at the moment is still not decided, but if he does start as manager, I would think this is a massively undermining thing to appoint another football director and to take responsibility away from Moyes and take power back."

Who is the sporting director at West Ham?

Interestingly enough, back in 2018, The Guardian reported that Moyes – who was in his first spell with the Irons – would be given more influence over transfers with Sullivan taking a more hands-off approach.

Presumably, then, the Scottish manager has had a lot of say in recent dealings alongside Head of Recruitment Rob Newman.

However, when you look at a signing such as Gianluca Scamacca, who arrived for £35.5m but hasn't settled well with just three league goals to his name, it's not hard to see why Sullivan might be unhappy with the decision-making by Moyes and Newman regarding transfers

Of course, Irons legend Mark Noble is currently the sporting director but has only been in the role since January this year, so perhaps the board will want to put someone with more transfer experience into a specific role behind the scenes.

If that is the case, it will be interesting to see how Moyes reacts to this change in control he has at the club.

Morgan seeks series win as nation licks its wounds

England still need to win one of the final two matches to secure the series – and they may come up against the weather again at The Oval, with a poor forecast for the afternoon

Alan Gardner at The Oval28-Jun-2016England’s increasingly proficient one-day side might well offer a beacon of hope for those looking for a distraction this week. England cricket fans knew the meaning of omnishambles long before it was added to the dictionary and might regard it as something of a perversity that, after the country’s footballers were put on ice by the smallest nation at Euro 2016 and as politicians continue exploring the realms beyond satire, it is their sport that provides a fleeting opportunity for optimism. It is not so long ago that England’s ODI players were sent packing from a major tournament to the accompaniment of boos and hisses, of course. Eoin Morgan is periodically asked to reflect on how far England have come since the 2015 World Cup and his responses to how the culture of the limited-overs teams has been changed, and where they can continue to improve, are typically well-rehearsed and emotion-free. Is it a stretch to suggest his cool captaincy and emphasis on collective enjoyment feels ever-so-slightly Icelandic?Morgan is no football fan, however, and England are one of the most well-resourced teams in cricket, so it is hard to make theirs an underdog story – no matter how mangy their one-day performances have been over the last couple of decades. England’s captain, who perhaps took slightly more of an interest during Ireland’s Euro 2016 defeat on Sunday, did concede that “emotions are probably running high with everybody around the country at the moment” but stopped short of endorsing the appointment of an Australian as Roy Hodgson’s successor.Coincidentally, Hodgson watched England’s cricketers train the last time they prepared for a match at The Oval (one they lost by an innings to Australia) but he has now joined Peter Moores and Stuart Lancaster in the most recent ranks of English coaching disaster. Morgan was more interested in Eddie Jones’ success in turning around the rugby team – “it’s been phenomenal to watch a whitewash against Australia on home soil” – but eventually talk turned to his ongoing project alongside Trevor Bayliss in improving England’s ODI stocks.A tie at Trent Bridge, where Liam Plunkett’s last-ball six salvaged a game that appeared lost, was followed by more consummate displays in both disciplines at Edgbaston and another solid bowling performance, before the rain arrived to wipe out any chance of a result at Bristol. That means England still need to win one of the final two matches to secure the series – and they may come up against the weather again at The Oval, with a poor forecast for the afternoon.”It’s very important we work hard, they are a strong side, we don’t take them for granted,” Morgan said. “The series still stands at 1-0, given we’ve played some really good cricket and not been able to capitalise because of the weather. Tomorrow again it is going to be tough to get it to that point but it’s important to emphasise the hard work that needs to be put in.”As England have broken records with regularity over the last 12 months, it has been the batsmen that have taken the plaudits – most recently with Alex Hales and Jason Roy knocking off the highest successful chase for a team winning by ten wickets. However, the bowling has stood out so far in this series, with Sri Lanka limited to totals of 286 for 9, 254 for 7 and 248 for 9. England have got by on five specialist bowlers in each match, with Joe Root contributing three overs of back-up spin, and while Morgan said he would prefer to have more options – such as when Ben Stokes has been fit to play as an allrounder in the top six – results had been encouraging.”At the moment it has worked, ideally we would have more but our strength has been our batting and to stick with that sends quite a lot of confidence through the changing room,” Morgan said of the team’s balance.”It throws it over to the bowlers, more responsibility on them and they have done pretty well with it. Sometimes if you go in with six out-and-out bowlers it can be off the pace a little bit, when you pack your team with batters and if they play poorly you wonder if they rely too much on other people. It’s a balance you just have to stay with what you feel is right for the team.”England have become more accustomed to viewing the limited-overs formats as a squad game and Morgan said there were still plenty of options to consider ahead of next year’s Champions Trophy. Steven Finn has yet to play a game in the series – in part thanks to Liam Plunkett’s strong form – and Stuart Broad’s name continues to linger at edge of selectoral discussions.Meanwhile, a combination of poor batting, good batting (from Hales and Roy) and poor weather, means that Morgan, Root and Jonny Bairstow have had little opportunity for time in the middle. For that reason, as well as the desire to avoid going to Cardiff still only 1-0 up, England will hope the rain stays away over south London on Wednesday. As Hodgson, who led his team through a perfect qualifying campaign for Euro 2016, would attest, you can never be too well prepared for the challenges ahead.”There is a lot of talk going into tournaments about knowing your best 11 but its more than that. A guy goes down in the first game, must-win, it’s more than having 11 – it’s how big your squad is. When you turn to guys at certain stages of a tournament you have got to be able to trust them, it’s not just your best team, but best squad.”

Rangers Could Find Devine 2.0 In "Brave" 20 y/o Prodigy

Glasgow Rangers head coach Michael Beale masterminded a thumping 3-0 victory over Celtic in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday and that may rank as one of his best achievements since entering the Ibrox dugout.

The Light Blues head coach was unable to prevent them from winning the title this season but has only lost two of his 18 league matches in charge and will be hoping that the latest result is a sign of things to come in 2023/24.

Beale will not end his first campaign at the helm with a trophy but there have been encouraging signs from the Englishman, including his willingness to utilise young talent.

After the club returned from the break for the 2022 World Cup, the manager called upon teenage academy talent Adam Devine to step up at left-back in the absence of Borna Barisic and Ridvan Yilmaz.

The homegrown gem, who since turned 20 in March of this year, has played five times in the Premiership and averaged a Sofascore rating of 6.85 – creating two 'big chances' and providing 1.2 chances per game.

Glasgow Rangers defender Adam Devine.

Beale could now find his next Devine by unearthing talented left-back Robbie Fraser from the 'B' team in the coming weeks and months.

Who is Robbie Fraser?

The 20-year-old is a defender who is currently the captain of the Gers' second team. He also recently signed a contract extension with the club to take him through to the summer of 2024.

Fraser, who Heart and Hand podcaster Ross Hutton hailed as "brave", is yet to make his senior bow for the Light Blues but his performances for the youth side suggest that a call-up could arrive sooner rather than later.

Earlier this season, the emerging dynamo said: “I feel like I’m getting closer to making that next step into the first team hopefully."

The youngster has made 40 appearances in all competitions for the academy this season and produced two goals and seven assists from defence.

Fraser has showcased his ability to burst forward from left-back to create chances for his teammates on a regular basis, in a similar fashion to Devine – who created two 'big chances' in five first-team outings in the Premiership.

Being the captain of the B team also suggests that the Murray Park prodigy has the mental attributes to make the step up to the first team as he has shown himself to be a leader amongst his own age group.

This, coupled with his attacking quality from left-back, indicates that the gem has the potential to be Beale's next Devine and the Gers head coach could use the last few matches in the Premiership this season to offer the bustling youngster a chance to impress.

Conditions, IPL experience help Sran rediscover swing

Barinder Sran has said that the bowler-friendly conditions in Zimbabwe and the time spent with Ashish Nehra and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the IPL have helped him develop an inswinger

ESPNcricinfo staff17-Jun-2016Barinder Sran had an underwhelming debut series in Australia, where he took three wickets at an average of 56.66 and gave away 6.45 runs an over. But in India’s three-ODI series against Zimbabwe, the left-arm seamer took four wickets at 24.75, at an economy rate of 4.12, and showcased a new weapon – an inswinger that was a source of discomfort for Zimbabwe’s batsmen. Ahead of the T20I series that begins in Harare on Saturday, Sran said he had consciously worked on getting his wrist position right.”It’s the difference in the conditions [between Australia and Zimbabwe],” Sran said. “I changed the seam position a bit, made some changes to my action because I’m looking to swing the new ball. So I’m not putting in too much effort, because if I do that, I lose my wrist position and it reduces the swing.”Sran had erred frequently in his line and length in Australia, and his bouncers were largely ineffective. But in Zimbabwe, he has mostly stuck to a fuller length. “[In Australia], I had a problem in my shoulder because of which I couldn’t perform to my potential. So I was under some pressure,” Sran said. “I didn’t have much IPL experience either then, I had played only one IPL match, and even in the Ranji Trophy, only 10-11 matches. Still, everybody supported me and that felt good.”Nothing much has changed, because in Australia, there was a huge difference in the kind of wickets. It was quite hot there and they were good batting wickets, whereas here, there is some help for the bowlers. I have just been focusing and working on those areas where I’m weak, like when I was trying to swing, the ball wasn’t coming back in, so I worked on that regularly. In the IPL too, [Ashish] Nehra and Bhuvi [Bhuvneshwar Kumar] were with me, they taught me seam position and supported me in all aspects from the beginning. For two-three days, I went to Chandigarh as well and met my coach Amit Uniyal and worked with him.”The performances in Zimbabwe have been a step forward after his struggles in Australia, but Sran acknowledged that work was needed before he can be considered ready for Test cricket. “To get there, I need to be consistent and bowl one line and length,” he said. “I need to improve a lot, I need to improve my pace and fitness level. I will work towards achieving these in the next season.”

Chelsea: Pochettino Already Eyeing "Spectacular" Striker Bid

Mauricio Pochettino has already set his sights on Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez, and Chelsea have also been told what it will take to sign him.

What's the latest Chelsea transfer news?

Pochettino, ahead of this looming summer window, has already identified key Stamford Bridge targets – with goalkeeper Andre Onana also of serious interest to the Argentine.

It's been an underwhelming first full season for Chelsea owner Todd Boehly, who has overseen a calamitous drop to the bottom half, just two seasons after the west Londoners were crowned champions of Europe.

A succession of managers have come and gone, too, with Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter being relieved of their duties over 2022/2023 as Frank Lampard takes interim charge till the end of this torrid Premier League season.

One major hope for supporters is what the future could hold under Pochettino, who has joined Chelsea 10 months after leaving Ligue 1 giants Paris-Saint Germain.

Chelsea's task is to back their incoming manager as Pochettino looks to shape the team in his own image, with Football Insider sharing an update on his plans.

According to the outlet, Inter striker Martinez is a personal target for the 51-year-old, with Pochettino being a "massive fan" of his.

Chelsea have also been told exactly what it will take for the Nerazzurri to sanction a sale as both the Blues and Man United eye up summer moves.

The Champions League finalists will apparently demand a fee of around £69.5 million to let their forward depart Italy, with Chelsea searching for a proven goalscorer.

Who is Lautaro Martinez?

The Argentine, who was a member of their 2022 World Cup-winning squad, has been in exceptional form this season.

Martinez stands out as Inter's best-performing player overall by average Serie A match rating, scoring over 20 league goals for Simone Inzaghi's side (WhoScored).

Averaging around 3.5 attempts at goal per 90, the highest number of any Inter player, the £184,000-per-week star is a constant threat in the final third.

Called "spectacular" by footballing icon Lionel Messi, Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku also holds no doubt over Martinez's ability as a forward.

“Amazing, the guy is really a beast,” said Lukaku on Instagram Live in 2020 (via GOAL).“He is doing so well, he keeps improving, I love him".

Still just 25-years-old and a proven goalscorer, Martinez could be a great option for Chelsea at £69.5m – especially considering other options like Victor Osimhen will cost far more.
