Na manhã desta segunda-feira, na reapresentação do elenco depois de empatar por 0 a 0 diante do América-MG, em Belo Horizonte, Luiz Felipe Scolari comandou seu primeiro treino na Academia de Futebol nesta sua nova passagem pelo Palmeiras – ele se apresentou na sexta, enquanto o time estava em Minas Gerais. E o que se viu foram o paraguaio Gustavo Gómez e o venezuelano Alejandro Guerra fazendo trabalhos separados em campo.

Recém-contratado, Gómez apareceu no gramado realizando alguns trabalhos com bola, individualmente, ao lado do preparador físico Thiago Maldonado. Como estava no Milan, da Itália, o paraguaio passa pelo processo de retorno aos treinamentos depois de férias na temporada europeia.

Guerra, por sua vez, passa por trabalho de transição para o gramado enquanto se recupera de lesão no pé esquerdo, constatada no fim de maio. O meio-campista apareceu no gramado somente para dar piques e realizar exercícios físicos, sem trabalhar com bola.

Enquanto isso, sob uma insistente e fina chuva, quem não foi titular diante do América-MG trabalhou no gramado – entre os que foram poupados no fim de semana, somente o lateral-direito Marcos Rocha e o atacante Dudu não se exercitaram no campo. Felipão passou a maior parte do tempo observando as atividades, que corriam sob intensos gritos do auxiliar Paulo Turra.

O exercício era basicamente de ataque contra defesa. Mas o dia ainda terminou com trabalhos específicos para pivô. Primeiro, Deyverson tinha a atenção especial do auxiliar Carlos Pracidelli e enfrentava um zagueiro, para praticar como girar diante da pressão de um zagueiro fazendo marcação próxima. Uma clara indicação do estilo que Scolari gosta em suas equipes.

Depois, Paulo Turra trabalhou especificamente com o zagueiro argentino Nicolás Freire. O auxiliar lançava do meio-campo para o defensor afastar e, depois, o próprio Turra bancou o atacante que ficava à frente de Freire, atrapalhando a sua marcação e buscando o passe para Artur ou Vitinho, que chegavam de trás.

Felipão observava tudo, e dedicava alguns minutos para conversas individuais. Falou, principalmente, com Gustavo Scarpa. E esteve ao lado do meia o tempo todo enquanto ele e Diogo Barbosa treinaram cobranças de falta, já na reta final do treinamento. As atividades cessaram quando o técnico cruzou as duas mãos, em clara mensagem aos auxiliar para colocar fim ao treino.

O Palmeiras volta a treinar na tarde desta terça-feira, na Academia de Futebol, mas somente com os primeiros minutos abertos à imprensa. Depois da atividade, a delegação viaja para o Paraguai, onde abrirá os confrontos diante do Cerro Porteño pelas oitavas de final da Libertadores. A partida de ida está marcada para as 21h45 de quinta-feira.

كشفت تقارير صحفية عن موقف نادي ريال مدريد الإسباني من مفاوضات ضم جود بيلينجهام لاعب بوروسيا دورتموند الألماني.

ويعد بيلينجهام محل اهتمام لكبار أندية أوروبا، وارتبط بالانتقال إلى ريال مدريد، بالإضافة إلى رغبة مانشستر يونايتد وتشيلسي في التعاقد معه، وكذلك ليفربول ومانشستر سيتي.

وسجل بيلينجهام هذا الموسم عشرة أهداف في 30 مباراة في جميع المسابقات مع فريقه دورتموند.

وبحسب صحيفة “آس” الإسبانية، قلل ريال مدريد من اهتمامه بالتفاوض لضم بيلينجهام لصفوف الفريق، مما يعطي دفعة قوية لأندية الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز الراغبة في التعاقد معه.

وأفاد التقرير أن السبب وراء ذلك يعود إلى تأخر دورتموند في حسم مصير لاعبه، وينتهي عقد بيلينجهام في يونيو 2025، ويقدره بوروسيا دورتموند بما يزيد عن 100 مليون جنيه إسترليني.

وريال مدريد على استعداد للانتظار حتى صيف عام 2024 للتعاقد مع بيلينجهام، حيث سيكلفه مبلغًا أقل لأنه لن يتبقى له سوى عام واحد على عقده.

The first-class Premier Tier A and B league matches had been postponed indefinitely last month, in part because of a lack of funds to run the tournament. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) then had to wait until a new committee was in place, following the elections on January 3, to resolve the situation.”Most of the tournaments had been stopped because the elections were on and the committee was changing,” K Mathivanan, the newly elected vice-president, told ESPNcricinfo. “From January 20 we are starting the Premier League tournament. Funding is there. That assurance we will give the clubs.”Mathivanan said that getting the first-class season off the ground was the first priority for the new president, Upali Dharmadasa. The decision is expected to be ratified by the executive committee today.One casualty of the delay is the provincial four-day tournament – an irregularly scheduled tournament to begin with, it will not be held this season. However, the one-day and Twenty20 tournaments will go ahead in light of Sri Lanka hosting the ICC World Twenty20 in September 2012, Mathivanan said.SLC are facing a financial crisis in the aftermath of building two new stadiums for the 2011 World Cup and renovating a third. The shortage of funds has affected their operations across the board, with the players still owed roughly half their dues since the World Cup final in April. Dharmadasa has said that it will take the board four or five years to get back to a sound financial footing.The SLC pays 2.7 million Sri Lankan rupees to each of the 11 Tier A clubs and 2.3 million to each of the 10 Tier B clubs per season. The clubs utilise this money to pay the players, ground fees, fund practice sessions and food, among other things. The clubs were paid 30% of their dues for the Premier limited-overs tournament that concluded in December 2011, and had said that unless at least 60% of the balance is paid, they would find it difficult to play the first-class matches.

Afridi and Pakistan team-mate Abdul Razzaq have both signed with the Renegades for Australia’s new Twenty20 tournament, and Afridi said he was taking the tournament very seriously because he had sacrificed his off season to play in it.”My commitment with the Big Bash holds a lot of importance because it was an off season for me,” he told ESPNcricinfo. “It will not only help me maintain momentum but also give me good preparation considering the tough conditions and strong opponents in Australia.”Afridi goes into the tournament, which starts on December 16, on the back of an impressive year with the ball in which he has taken 45 wickets in 27 ODIs at 20.82, with four five-wicket hauls. He struggled with the bat during the 2011 World Cup but got his highest score of the year, 75, in the third ODI of Pakistan’s recent series against Sri Lanka in the UAE. Shahid Afridi has said that he had a “point to prove” after his match-winning performance in Sharjah helped Pakistan secure the one-day series against Sri Lanka 3-1 with a game in hand. Afridi scored 75 before taking 5 for 35, becoming the only cricketer to score a half-century and take five wickets in two ODIs, leading Pakistan to a 26-run win in a low-scoring contest.”I had a point to prove and actions speak louder than words,” said Afridi, who had come out of conditional retirement before the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka. “There were a lot of challenges and there were a lot things that I had to prove wrong [about me].”I know there is a lot of expectation from me and I too understand how my batting could help the team. I am doing exactly according to the demand, as I made my comeback with an aim and goal. Now I want to play cricket and nothing else, and focus on my game.”Afridi began his innings with Pakistan in disarray at 71 for 5 in the 24th over. Misbah’s leadership, Afridi said, was ideal.”The way Misbah is leading, it’s great and the management is very good,” he said. “I want seniors to take more responsibility [though], because I don’t want youngsters to be told in every meeting that they must improve. So I want to set some examples for the new players.”Misbah gave Afridi his due but also praised his players for a team effort. “The main thing is the collective effort,” he said. “Every individual is performing in different matches and a collective effort is seen. Every player is playing his role.”

Richard Sydenham at Southwark Crown Court12-Oct-2011Statistician David Kendix, who devised and continues to calculate the world rankings for the ICC, said the alleged pre-determined no-balls that Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif bowled in last year’s Lord’s Test had a one in 1.5 million chance of happening without any inside information.Kendix, who also works for an insurance company on calculating the probability of rare events occurring to help insuring against them, is the second statistical expert in three days to tell Southwark Crown Court of such an improbability surrounding the no-balls being bowled exactly when predicted without foul play being present.Kendix was the official scorer at Lord’s during the match in question, as this is a role he has held since 1995, and has been a member of the Association for Cricket Statisticians and Historians.”I was asked to look at these instances and apply my cricket expertise,” Kendix told the court. “As part of that I looked at the bowlers’ international careers with regards to no-balls. I studied in detail when they bowled no-balls in order to determine when they might bowl no-balls in future.He added, after offering the court more in-depth detail: “The pattern of their previous no-balls did not give rise that on a particular ball in a particular over there would be a no-ball.” This, he went on to say, would have a one in 1.5 million chance of happening with only public knowledge to help.Alexander Milne, Asif’s barrister, confirmed with Kendix in front of the court that the sixth ball of the tenth over of the innings – when Asif bowled the second alleged pre-planned no-ball – was his quickest delivery of the over, at just over 80 miles per hour.Kendix was a prosecution witness at the trial of Salman Butt and Asif, who are facing charges of conspiracy to cheat, and conspiracy to obtain and accept corrupt payments. Butt and Asif deny the charges.Various senior police officers took the witness stand after lunch to reveal further detail about the findings of the raids that were made on the rooms of Butt, Asif and Amir last August at the team base at the Marriott Hotel in Regents Park. The court had previously heard the items apprehended via a printed transcript last week.The prosecution will call its final witness on Thursday morning, former PCB Operations Manager Zakir Khan. He will be appearing via a video link from Lahore. There is a possibility that defendants Butt and Asif may even take the witness stand for the first time.The case continues.
