In an exclusive interview with The Transfer Tavern, Steve Howey, who made 278 appearances during his career, has claimed that Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse will never want to leave the club.

In March, Garth Crooks claimed that there would be no better replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum at Liverpool than Ward-Prowse, who is currently the club’s fifth top Premier League scorer of all time with 29 goals.

The 26-year old has had a standout season for Southampton, despite their form falling off a cliff since the turn of the year, which has earned him a regular place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

Speaking on why Ward-Prowse won’t see his future away from Southampton and how he has become the main man, Howey told The Transfer Tavern:

“He’s the main man there basically. I mean, he’s the captain and he takes the free kicks, the penalties, throw-ins, corners and he just does everything, basically.

“I think if he was to move then it would be great financially for him but at Southampton, he will be settled with his family and he is their main man.”

Ward-Prowse has played every single minute for Southampton in the Premier League this season which has been his best in front of goal scoring seven goals and registering six assists.

The £75,000 per week midfielder only signed a new deal last August which is not set to expire until 2025 giving the Saints security over his long term future.

Oswaldo ficou sem jeito, sorriu e apenas tirou as fotos com o grupo, que não cobrou uma resposta.

Nem tudo são flores – Além do lance de Willians com Léo Jabá, outro lance pesado chamou atenção no treino deste sábado: Jean cometeu uma falta dura em Marciel no segundo tempo do treino coletivo, depois de ser desarmado. Apesar de não ter acontecido nada grave com Marciel, Jean levou uma bronca de Cristian, companheiro mais experiente da mesma posição.

In an exclusive interview with Transfer Tavern, Rob Lee, who made 280 Premier League appearances, has claimed that Dominic Calvert-Lewin should remain at Everton despite having a good season.

Manchester United have reportedly enquired about the England international and the Toffees have slapped an £80 million price tag on their star striker, who has scored 15 goals this season.

Calvert-Lewin started the season as one of the most in-form players in the Premier League as he scored 11 goals in 11 games but injuries have disrupted his second half of the season.

Speaking on whether Calvert-Lewin should leave Everton this summer and what he must do before getting a move away, Lee exclusively told The Transfer Tavern:

“Not at the moment no, but I think he had a great start to the season scoring 11 in 11 but he needs consistency and that’s what teams will be looking for, consistency, especially for the amount of money that Everton would demand for him.

“I don’t see the point in him going or the point in Everton letting him go. He might as well have another season there and if he does as well as he started this season then in a year’s time, I’m sure that there’ll be clubs after him.”

The 24-year old was signed from Sheffield United in 2016 for just £1.6 million so the Toffees would make a comfortable profit on the striker if he was to leave.

Everton still have a chance of qualifying for the Europa League this season as they find themselves just four points behind Tottenham Hotspur in sixth.

Many Everton fans have been giving their thoughts as Phil Kirkbride has claimed that Mason Holgate may be dropped against West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

However, the Liverpool Echo journalist suggested that the defender needs time to regain his form, which caused quite a stir among some members of the Goodison Park faithful.

Holgate has made costly errors in recent games for the Toffees, dwelling on the ball which allowed Ollie Watkins to score for Aston Villa last week, while two lapses of judgement alongside Michael Keane allowed Harry Kane to score twice for Tottenham in April.

It seems as if many Everton supporters have simply had enough of the defender and subsequently do not want him to start in what is a crucial match away to the Hammers as Carlo Ancelotti’s side chase a European finish.

وتحدث البرازيلي عن برشلونة وتطور أدائه في الفترة الماضية تحت قيادة، تشافي، في تصريحات نقلتها صحيفة “موندو ديبورتيفو” الكتالونية، وقال: “أردت العودة والتنافس مع اللاعبين”.

وأضاف: “برشلونة نادٍ لديه أسلوب يعرفه الجميع ويجب الحفاظ عليه حتى النهاية، الاستحواذ كما يعرف الناس، القتال من أجل كل كرة، اعتقد أننا نستمتع بما نقدمه وهو نتاج للعمل والالتزام اليومي الذي يقوم به اللاعبون وفي نفس الوقت عدم استسلام للموقف الذي كنا نمر به”.

O árbitro Sandro Meira Ricci teve mantida no Pleno do STJD a pena de suspensão recebida no primeiro julgamento no Tribunal, por causa do episódio no clássico entre Flamengo e Fluminense. Assim, Ricci, árbitro brasileiro na Copa-2014, foi suspenso por 60 dias, além de levar multa de R$ 1 mil.

O clássico Fla-Flu, em outubro, ficou marcado pela anulação do gol de Henrique, mas a demora na definição – 13 minutos -, idas e vindas na decisão da arbitragem e a invasão de atletas ao gramado deixou dúvidas no Flu sobre a existência de interferência externa.

– Entendo que a conduta do árbitro foi temerária por voltar duas vezes na decisão, deixando o jogo paralisado por 13 minutos, inclusive deixando dúvidas acerca da origem da decisão. Na súmula, ainda colocou que nada de anormal havia acontecido – disse o relator do caso, o auditor Mauro Marcelo de Lima e Silva, que emendou:

– A dúvida permeou a verdade. A demora excessiva violou o artigo. O árbitro se omitiu. Neste caso, além de ser honesta, a decisão tem que parecer honesta. A elasticidade do tempo e o vai e volta deixou claro que pode ter interferência externa. Se a decisão fosse anular o gol, talvez o caso não desse tanta repercussão.

Sandro, logo depois do episódio, ficou afastado por algum tempo porque foi convidado para apitar na Liga da Índia. O árbitro já cumpriu 15 dias da suspensão e, por isso, não atua mais na temporada.
